

Statewide AHEC Nursing Liaison
Position Summary:The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing seeks a highly qualified, energetic, and motivated individual for a Statewide Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Nursing Liaison position. This position is a full time, fixed-term faculty position. The Liaison oversees and directs all AHEC activities in the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Nursing, consults with the NC AHEC Program Office on nursing issues, and serves as liaison with the nursing directors in the State's nine regional AHECs.
RESPONSIBILITES include teaching, advocacy, consultation, and the promotion of collaboration, communication and cooperation to ensure coordination, resource planning and resource development for nursing initiatives that support AHEC's mission of meeting the state's health and health workforce needs by providing educational programs in partnership with academic institutions, healthcare agencies, and other organizations committed to improving the health of the people of North Carolina.
REQUIREMENTS: Unrestricted RN license in NC, a doctoral degree in nursing or related field, academic experience, AHEC and continuing education experience preferred, evidence of a strong, collaborative/facilitative style of leadership, excellent communication, management skills, and negotiation skills, ability to engage multiple organizations in planning and implementing nursing initiatives.
